At the end of 2003 the Central Uusimaa region started the 'Sentraali Project' on the funding of European Social Funds with the financial support of the Ministry of Labour and selected municipalities. Central Uusimaa Partnership is the lead association and therefore is responsible for the administration and overall management of the project plus will act as the main Business Advisory and Information Service for the region. The 'Sentraali Project' will channel 80 000 Euros into the project and the selected associations so that Central Uusimaa Partnership can support the local Business Advisory and Information Centres within the region.
The subsidiary associations are conveniently located around the Central Uusimaa region in Järvenpää, Kerava, Mäntsälä and Sipoo. Each of these associations will act as subsidiaries to the Local Business Advisory Centre located in Järvenpää. The associations have planned to meet regularly, not less than six times a year, to exchange expertise and to coordinate their work methods in order to enchance the quality of the project. Over the length of the project itis expected that the knowledge and capasity of the subsidiaries will increase over time so that they will become more self sufficient.
'Sentraali Project' will thus ultimately offer a selected number ofthird sector actors, who have an interest in the development of their own work, professional financial services and advice as to utilise available assistance money. The subsidiary associations have first-hand knowledge and practical expertise to understand and recognise the individual service needs and as a result support Central Uusimaa Partnership in its goal to reduce social exclusion. Both Central Uusimaa Partnership and its subsidiary associations share the same aim, based on these identified service needs, to help benefit local workplaces.
